Just My Luck

cast: lindsay lohan, chris pine, missi pyle

it was one of those days when i woke up so bored that i decided to go to the mall and watch a movie even if i knew beforehand that there was no good movie showing. and after a few moments of indecision at the ticket booth, i chose to watch “just my luck”. one of the biggest mistakes of my life!

lindsay lohan plays a girl so lucky in life luck must be chasing her. chris pine, on the other hand, is the complete opposite as bad luck seems to be upon him every other second. they meet at a costumed dance party and after exchanging a long, passionate kiss behind their masks, their lucks trade places. chris becomes the lucky person and lindsay the unlucky one.

lindsay consults a seer to seek out the reason for the sudden change of her luck from completely good to hopelessly bad. informed that her luck was stolen from her through a kiss, she goes on a serious manhunt to locate the mystery boy that kissed her on that fateful night.

i guess even the reader can see and feel that the story is not worth talking about. for my part, i only wanted to watch a movie that was lighthearted enough so that i may hopefully elevate myself from the boredom i was in. but i guess the movie turned out to be too light that i got easily distracted by the littlest cough or the subtlest movement from the audience.

once upon a time i had a big crush on lindsay – which was probably another reason that triggered my choice for this movie. but now i guess i’m already desensitized from her beauty.

rating: 1 of 5 stars *
forgettable.

I was thinking which is worse.... an extremely bad movie such as 'Magnolia', or a very boring movie like 'Just My Luck'.

I guess the boring movie is worse. With bad movies, at least you can make fun of them. But with boring ones, you just want to forget them.
